Hidden on the limestone ridge overlooking Milnthorpe Sands are the Fairy Steps. Set in decidous woodland the steps can be challenging for those of a broader girth. The steps are on a public right of way between Hazelslack and Beetham. The way is signposted as you take the side road north out of Beetham towards Storth. Legend has it that anyone who can squeeze through the fairy steps without touching the limestone sides can have a fairy wish granted them!
