Lakestay for lovers of the Lakes

See the Light...Join the Boycott

OUR Victorian forefather toiled to create the dams and tunnels to bring pure clear water from the lakeland mountains to Manchester. Now we waste money on buying plastic bottled water that fills up supermarket shelves. Amidst all the 'green' fuss few highlight the fuel burned transporting tonnes of bottled water around Britain.

Lakestay urges all thinking people to stop wasting their money on bottled water and give the planet a helping hand.Tap vs bottled water. Almost half a trillion (500,000,000,000) plastic bottles will be used in 2017 alone. It is scandalous that lorries ship thousands of gallons of bottled water around when our tap water is clean and safe. Just stop buying bottled water or re-use and refill from the tap. Also placing a jug of tap water in fridge will see any trace chlorine evanporate within an hour and make a refreshing drink.

Most of the bottled water we buy is still, so could be replaced by tap water
In a survey, Half of Which? members say they can't taste the difference between bottled and tap water, with 18% actually preferring it from the tap.
UK tap water is some of the safest in the world..

ThirlmereLakeland water to the cities...The aqueduct from Thirlmere and Haweswater to Lancashire is the longest gravity-fed aqueduct in the country, with no pumps along its route. The water flows at a speed of four miles per hour (6 km/h) and takes just over a day to reach the city. The level of the aqueduct drops by approximately 20 inches (51 cm) for every mile (1.6 km) of its length.
