Lakestay for lovers of the Lakes

See the Light...Join the Boycott

OUR Victorian forefather toiled to create the dams and tunnels to bring pure clear water from the lakeland mountains to Manchester. Now we waste money on buying plastic bottled water that fills up supermarket shelves. Amidst all the 'green' fuss few highlight the fuel burned transporting tonnes of bottled water around Britain.

Lakestay urges all thinking people to stop wasting their money on bottled water and give the planet a helping hand.

ThirlmereLakeland water to the cities...The aqueduct from Thirlmere and Haweswater to Lancashire is the longest gravity-fed aqueduct in the country, with no pumps along its route. The water flows at a speed of four miles per hour (6 km/h) and takes just over a day to reach the city. The level of the aqueduct drops by approximately 20 inches (51 cm) for every mile (1.6 km) of its length.
